How we handle your data.
This notice explains what personal data PBSAintel collects, why, and your rights. In short, we collect as little as possible. You can browse the site without giving us any personal data, and there are no advertising or tracking cookies.
1. Who we are
PBSAintel (pbsaintel.com) is responsible for the personal data described here: it is the "controller" under UK data protection law. Contact us about anything in this notice at [email protected].
2. The newsletter
If you subscribe, we collect your email address. We also record the date and way you subscribed, whether you confirmed your subscription, and whether you open our emails and click their links.
- Why: to email you when new official data is published on PBSAintel, with a summary of what changed. We never sell or rent your details.
- Lawful basis: your consent, given when you subscribe and confirm by email. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to us.
- Opens and clicks: our emails contain a small tracking image and tracked links, so we can see which updates are useful. You can avoid this by turning off automatic image loading in your email app.
- How long we keep it: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address on a "do not contact" list, so we don't email you again by mistake.
3. Emails you send us
If you write to [email protected], for example to report a correction, we use your email address and message to reply. Our legitimate interest is answering you and keeping the data accurate. We delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed, normally within two years.
4. Visiting the website
The website sets no cookies and uses no advertising or analytics trackers. Like any website, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, briefly processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type. It uses this to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. This is in our legitimate interest in running a secure website, and we do not use it to identify you.
5. Who we share data with
We use these service providers, which act on our instructions under data processing terms:
- beehiiv, Inc. (USA) sends the newsletter and stores the subscriber list.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) provides website hosting, security and email forwarding for [email protected].
We share nothing with anyone else unless the law requires it.
6. International transfers
beehiiv and Cloudflare are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. These transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or by another safeguard recognised under UK law.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected, or deleted
- object to, or restrict, how we use it
- receive a copy in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
8. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice, for example if we add a service. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects how we use subscribers' data, we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
