Context behind the numbers.
Cycles, not entry years. A cycle runs from the main scheme opening in September to the end of Clearing the following autumn. Acceptances include applicants placed for deferred entry into the following academic year.
Main-scheme measures. UCAS defines the main scheme as its undergraduate scheme in which an applicant can make up to five course choices, open from September to 30 June. Main-scheme applicants and applications come from UCAS's "Main scheme application" rows. UCAS's offer rate is the proportion of main-scheme applications that received an offer, shown as published.
Main-scheme acceptance rate (calculated by PBSAintel). Main-scheme accepted applicants divided by main-scheme applicants, both from the same UCAS "Main scheme application" rows. It measures acceptances, not enrolments, and is not calculated for groups under 100 applicants ("not shown (small group)"). UCAS's own technical notes calculate an acceptance rate only for groups of at least 10 applicants; PBSAintel uses a stricter threshold of 100.
Accepted applicants (all routes). UCAS's "All" rows, which include applicants who went directly to Clearing and records of prior acceptance (RPAs: applicants already holding an accepted offer before entering UCAS). Route categories overlap, so this page never adds main-scheme and other-route rows together.
Rounding and gaps. Counts are shown as published, rounded to the nearest 5. A blank UCAS rate is shown as "not published", not as zero. Missing cycles are never filled.
Domicile, not nationality. Domicile is the declared area of permanent residence. UCAS provider data has no named-country detail. For China and other named countries, see Enrolments (HESA).
Definitions are paraphrased from UCAS, Technical notes and definitions (2025 end-of-cycle release). Figures stay per university: no market or cross-university totals are shown.
